Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival 2015

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival 2015 Edition Announces First Guests, Call For Entries

Buffalo Dreams Fantastic Film Festival, now entering its third season as the successor to Buffalo Screams Horror Film Festival, is calling for entries for unproduced original screenplays, music videos, web series, micro-shorts, short films, medium length films, and feature films from around the world in the following genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror, Action, Comedy, Animation, Thriller, and Fan Films. The filmmaker friendly festival runs for one full week in Buffalo, New York from Friday, November 6th - Thursday, November 12th, and offers awards in multiple categories. Debbie Rochon will present her directorial debut, Model Hunger, which was filmed in Buffalo, at the event. In addition, horror author Anthony Izzo (Cruel Winter, The Dead Land Trilogy) will judge the original screenplay competition.

“Our programming is split pretty evenly between local, domestic and international films,” says filmmaker and author Greg Lamberson, who co-directs the festival with Chris Scioli. “We’ve seen a steady increase in attendance by visiting filmmakers, a trend we hope to see continue. Each year it’s a pleasure to see these dedicated filmmakers supporting each other, and presenting their work to a Buffalo audience with an appreciation for independent genre films. Debbie’s attended the fest in the past as a visiting actress and as an honorary chair, and this will be her first trip here as a visiting director. We’re pleased that Anthony Izzo, who has eleven novels and novellas to his credit, has agreed to serve as a judge.”

A small sampling of past filmmakers who have screened their work at Buffao Dreams includes Isaac Ezban (El Incidente/The Incident), Don Thacker (Motivational Growth), Simon Pearce (Judas Ghost), Brett Kelly (My Fair Zombie), Jon Keeyes (Nightmare Box), Alex Drummond (The Shower), Christopher Giroux (The Drownsman) and Ryan Bellgardt (Army of Frankensteins). Past special award recipients include City of Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown, Buffalo-Niagara Film Commissioner Tim Clark, and Buffalo-Niagara Film Office Director of Operations Rich Wall.
